All About Holy Lamb Organics Material

Holy Lamb Organics Material and care

Specializing in Bedding Basics Holy Lamb Organics Bedding is All Natural and Organic and Handmade in the State of Washington.  A Small Business that Prides Themselves on Zero Waste, a Scent and Chemical Free Facility, and Being Able to Offer Green Jobs.  They Use Organic Cotton, Organic Wool that's Sustainably Sourced or Eco-Wool (never chemically treated) that's Produced in the USA.
High Quality Bedding With The Lightest Environmental Footprint !

American Produced Eco-Wool
The Premium Eco-Wool is the Cleanest American Wool.  It's Breathable, All Natural, Fire Resistant, Anti-Bacterial, Renewable, Not Itchy, and is Never Chemically Treated.

Eco Wool is produced to the highest standards on local American farms; some of these standards are beyond those specified for organic materials. Eco Wool is not certified organic. At this time very little organic wool is available on the market; almost no organic wool is grown in the United States. Our Eco Wool is a blend of seven different types of wool varying from fine to coarse in order to create the most ideal wool fiber for use in bedding.
Eco-Wool Batting is the Soft and Clean Signature American Wool Blend.
Wooly Down
A Puffed Wool that is malleable and behaves similar to down feathers though provides more support.

A Note About the Scent of Wool:  Both Natural and Organic Wool is cleaned and processed naturally without the use of harsh chemicals. That's why you may initially notice the mild sweet scent of sunny farm pastures when you receive your new wool product. Our wool retains 1% of the naturally occurring lanolin oil, which helps condition the fibers and keep them fluffy and soft for years to come. Most customers find the scent dissipates within a few days.
Organic Cotton Material
Holy Lamb Organic Cotton is GOTS Certified.  It's Grown Without the Use of Harmful Chemicals and Pesticides and Only Untreated GMO Free Organic Seeds are Used.  Safe for Sensitive Skin, and Super Soft and Comfortable Against Skin.

Certifications
GOTS Certified -
Global Organic Textile Standard
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
Holy Lamb Organics production facilities are GOTS Certified

IOAS Certification -
All cotton used at Holy Lamb Organics is IOAS certified.
The IOAS is a nonprofit certification organization dedicated to the integrity of eco-label claims in the field of organic and sustainable agriculture, environmental management, social justice and fair trade. They work internationally to assess the competence of organizations providing certification to sustainability standards, meaning producers can work in a fair environment and consumers can trust the products bearing these labels and the company's contribution to a more sustainable and fairer world. IAOS's role is as an independent technical expert. It verifies the correct application of the standard and the requirements for certification.
UC Davis Toxicology Lab Certified Safe
All wool used in our products is tested for heavy metals through fiber sample analysis. The official report indicates: "No toxic compounds were detected . . . Growers and ranchers raise sheep relative to organic standards (do not use herbicides, pesticides or growth hormones)." Though not required by law, our mill has their wool periodically tested.

Element Materials Technology Tested
All materials at Holy Lamb Organics that have a next-to-skin use are run through a voluntary Phthalates test (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act CPSIA of 2008). This test is required by law and provides an extra assurance of quality and safety. All toppers and mattresses are required to meet cigarette burn test 1633. Verification is printed on all of our sewn-in product labels: "This Product Complies with the Federal Flammability Standard 16 CFR part 1632".
Care:
Your Wool Bedding is Built to Last Generations
Cleaning un-treated wool is easy but a little different than a polyester blanket.   The three basics of care are Breathe, Sun, Rotate.   It is recommended that you sun your wool bedding to naturally deodorize, bleach, disinfect, and revitalize.  Pull your blankets back during the day periodically to let your bedding breathe.  Rotate and flip mattress toppers to ensure even wear.
For life's Messier Situations:  Proven Washing Instructions are Included With Every Order As Follows:
Sunning your comforter periodically will keep it refreshed and revitalize the wool. Spot clean as needed. Treat stains by soaking area with hydrogen peroxide (note, this may cause lightening of fabric). Can be machined washed in warm water. Manually set to soak and spin cycles only. Do not use the wash cycle, which agitates and can ruin your comforter. For stained items, add a dose of live cultured enzymes (such as Bac-Out by Biokleen) during soak. Drape in the sun or warm place to dry. Do not wring or machine dry.
